Welcome to to the Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) website!

The PCDO is the Democratic Club for Princeton, New Jersey. We welcome and encourage Democrats to join our organization and get involved.

Founded in 1965, we represent and advance the interests of the Democratic Party in Princeton and provide a forum for discussion of local questions relating to our local, state, and national government. We seek to elect Democrats for local municipal office in Princeton as well as in Mercer County, the State of New Jersey and the United States of America.

The PCDO has regular monthly meetings featuring a variety of speakers on local and national issues. We have a politics book club and several ad hoc committees, which may be formed by any member. We endorse candidates at all levels and host candidate forums before each election. Through our email list, we notify members of upcoming political events and volunteer opportunities.  We have hosted a volunteer headquarters for presidential candidates and anticipate doing so again for the next presidential election.

In an effort to encourage participation at all levels, we offer a $5 minimum dues in addition to the suggested $15 annual dues. Any registered Democrat is eligible to become a member and those registered in Princeton are eligible to become voting members.

As much as we welcome and encourage participation, we also welcome members who are too busy to take an active role, but who enjoy politics and government. Membership carries no obligation to participate – many people join just to be kept in the loop on Democratic events and news.

General membership meetings are free and open to the public. We welcome visitors.
