The Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) endorsed candidates for all non-local offices at its monthly meeting on Sunday, February 26th. The evening began with presentations by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez and Representative Rush Holt before a crowd of well over one hundred that included PCDO members, elected officials and members of the public. Jackie Cornell-Bechelli, the NJ State Director of Obama for America provided an update on the presidential campaign.

The one contest for the group's endorsement was for the special NJ 16th District Assembly election. After a debate between candidates Sue Nemeth of Princeton and Marie Corfield of Flemington, 75 ballots were cast by eligible PCDO members residing in Princeton whose dues were paid at least 2 weeks prior to the meeting. Ms. Nemeth received 75 percent of the vote, Ms. Corfield 21 percent, and 4 percent chose "no endorsement." Ms. Nemeth's tally exceeded the 60 percent required for full endorsement.

The group endorsed the remainder of the slate by voice vote, which includes President Obama, Senator Menendez, Representative Holt as well as Mercer County Freeholders Ann Cannon, Pasquale "Pat" Colavita and Samuel Frisby.
