Welcome

Welcome to to the Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) website!

The PCDO is the Democratic Club for Princeton Borough and Princeton Township, New Jersey. We welcome and encourage Democrats to join our organization and get involved.

Founded in 1965, we represent and advance the interests of the Democratic Party in the Princetons and provide a forum for discussion of local questions relating to our local, state, and national government. We seek to elect Democrats for municipal office in the Borough and Township of Princeton as well as in Mercer County, the State of New Jersey and the United States of America.

The PCDO has regular monthly meetings featuring a
variety of speakers on local and national issues.  We have a politics book club and several ad
hoc committees that focus on issues, including global warming, health care and
local issues.   We endorse candidates at
all levels and host candidate forums before each election.  Through our email list, we notify members of
upcoming political events and volunteer opportunities.  In the past we have hosted a volunteer headquarters for presidential candidates and anticipate doing so again for 2008.

In an effort to encourage participation at all levels, this
year we have decided to offer a $5 minimum dues for people who are unable or
unwilling to pay the suggested $15 annual dues.
Any registered Democrat is eligible to become a member and those
registered in Princeton Borough or Township are eligible to become voting
members.

As much as we welcome and encourage participation, we also
welcome members who are too busy to take an active role, but who enjoy politics
and government.  Membership carries no
obligation to participate – many people join just to be kept in the loop on
Democratic events and news.

General membership meetings are free and open to the public. We welcome visitors.
