Report from Linda Gochfeld, MD and Mary Ellen Marino The Impeachment Task Force presented its findings to PCDO at the meeting on June 10, when after hearing three prominent speakers on the subject and discussion from the floor, a significant majority of PCDO members present voted to support the Resolution for impeaching Bush and Cheney. This was followed up by letters to the editor, and an Op-Ed piece by co-chair Mary Ellen Marino which was published in the Trenton Times. The co-chairs and some members then took the Resolution, petitions and supporting materials to Rep. Rush Holt in a meeting on July 9, asking him to consider co-sponsoring HR 333 for the impeachment of Cheney. This message was carried into more meetings with New Jersey Congressmen and also visits to the Washington offices of Reps. John Conyers and Nancy Pelosi, to the Democratic State Convention in Atlantic City, to the major rally in Newark on August 25 where Conyers spoke and the rally In DC September15. Efforts will continue to carry the PCDO message to state and national Democratic leaders. The last meeting was August 5 at Suzanne Patterson, members are in contact by e-mail and a meeting will be scheduled when new action is considered.
