Finally, we have a movement focusing the national debate on the real needs and concerns of “the 99 percent.” But will it make any difference in next year’s elections? Will corporate money and conservative backlash counter any hope for change? And will the Occupiers themselves see any point in political participation, including voting?

  • Nolan McCarty, Chair, Dept of Politics at the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University. Professor McCarty's areas of expertise include U.S. politics and the political impact of economic inequality and poverty.
  • Deborah Howlett, President of New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP), Trenton, NJ. Ms. Howlett will discuss NJPP's recent report "The State of Working New Jersey 2011: The Lost Decade."
